It's a three day weekend!

..and September first which means it's Fall in my book.
Mother Nature must have missed the memo because she has her death rays targeted on BG right now.
Shew it's a hot one out there!

The hubs and I didn't let the scorcher stop us from heading to Applefest at Jackson's Orchard yesterday though.

Jackson's Orchard is a farm located in our hometown, Bowling Green, KY.
They have 105 acres of beautiful land, and 11,000+ fruit trees!
Apples, Peaches, Cherries and other fruits/veggies.
Jellies, Butters, Dressings, Relishes...the list goes on and on.
All made in house. Yum!

It was a great day date and got us excited for the season!
Scroll on through for photos from our trip.

Jackson's always has a delicious variety of apples handpicked daily.

And local honey. A spoonful a day of raw local honey can do wonders for seasonal allergies.

 Apple Cider Slush and Fried Apple Pie. MMM..mmm..

"Your mother smelled of elderberries."
We got a kick out of this! Should have bought it.
 Fruit trees..Fruit trees..everywhere!

...and our haul from the trip

All KY Made:
 Local Honey
Blueberry/Peach Salsa [Sampled this--and it was incredible! Highly Recommend!}
Pumpkin bread
Sourdough bread
Honey sticks

Overall it was a great day!
If you're looking for a day trip, consider coming up and visiting Jackson's Orchard.
{They should have pumpkins ready by Sept 22, and a PumpkinFest after they arrive}
